Saath Nibhana Saathiya 21st March 2011 Written Update

Rashi & Gopi are on the street & Rashi is wondering where the boys are who were sent by Urmila. Gopi is burdened by bags & tells rashi that they'll get late. Rashi is still looking around & stops at a stall where Gopi says that they've already bought the colours. Rashi tells her that they have to buy the water gun. The guy says it's for Rs 100, but rAshi says she belongs to the same locality & wants it for Rs 50, all this time she's looking around. She spots some boys standing somewhere nearby with filled balloons & agrees to Rs 80. Rashi wonders how to find out if these were sent by her mother & decides she'll walk ahead of Gopi, so that the boys know who to aim for. Buying the water gun, she gives it to the already burdened Gopi & walks off thinking: Now let's see if Ahem will think she's Mrs Rajkot or Rajpal nagar's uneducated girl. She's smiling, behind her Gopi is struggling with the different packages & something falls. Bending down to pick it, Gopi calls out to Rashi who turns & is bombarded by the boys' balloons. Now Rashi's beautiful sari is multi-coloured & so's her face. Gopi is shocked while the boys tell each other to run as they've hit the wrong person. Gopi utters Rashiben, only to shouted at by Rashi (you can see Gopi's trying to control her smile).

MM- Koki is speaking with someone on the phone about some order, when the bell rings. Mani opens the door & we see Gopi still carrying all the packages while Rashi the multi-coloured is carrying only her purse. Koki: Rashi? Hetal: How did this happen? Gopi: Kakiji, some boys threw colour balloons on her. Rashi: I won't leave those boys. Koki moves off shaking her head. Gopi: But Rashiben, this is Holi time & kids will indulge in things like this. Hetal: Go change your clothes. Rashi moves away & thinks: In the morning, I must've seen that kagdi's face that's why this happened. The whole day has been a waste. She leaves. Hetal: Gopi, maasiji's asking for you, she said to send you as soon as you returned. Go to her. Gopi gives everything to her & leaves.

Gopi goes to her room where Nani is sitting. Nani: Before your hubby returns, I have some work with you. She takes Gopi to the dressingtable where she puts kajal ka tika so that Gopi can avoid the evil eye. She once again praises Gopi's looks & a car can be heard. Nani: Go, your hubby has come. Take tea for him. She's escorting Gopi when Koki enters the room asking Nani to go to her room. Nani sends Gopi off & tells Koki: Now, see how Ahem will get a surprise seeing Gopi. Koki agrees cautiously & tells her green tea is ready.

Gopi reaches the hall & comes face-to-face with Ahem who looks at her & takes another detailed look alongwith her hands.

PART 2

Ahem is still staring at Gopi who suddenly realises that she's not put the pallu & does so. Koki & Nani looking from above. Ahem is still giving Gopi the once-over. Nani: See Koyili? Koki (highly embarrassed): Come on Maa, come. They leave & so does Ahem. Gopi is smiling. She takes tea to Ahem who's unbuttoning his shirt. Gopi knocks & goes in. Ahem rolls up his cuffs. Gopi puts the tray down & she hand is shaking as she offers the cup-saucer to Ahem, who's still looking at her. He reaches forward to take the cup (why not the saucer too?). Gopi's nail hurts him & he spills the tea over his hand & drops the cup which shatters. Gopi is aghast & looks up at him. Ahem taunts her: You'll never change; you were uneducated & will always remain the same, by doing this make-up & dressing up you can't change yourself! (Didn't I tell you nothing can change this stone!) Gopi is in tears & Ahem leaves (this maa da laadla is totally bigdaa hua, ab koi hope nahin!)

Rashi meets Ahem in the corridor stalking off & then Gopi in tears collides with her. She enquires & Gopi relates the incident which makes Rashi happy. Rashi thinking: I wanted to cut your leg with the axe, but you yourself have put your leg on the axe. Good, very good. Aloud, she tells Gopi: Go & rest. In the room: Gopi: Rashiben, you know I haven't ever kept long nails. Rashi: I think someone cast an evil eye on you. You do one thing, you cut these nails. Gopi: Cut? Rashi: Yes, do you want Ahemji to get distrubed everyday & scold you everytime? She makes her sit & gets the nail cutter & smiles to herself.

PART 3

Rashi picks Gopi's hand, thinking: Wwhat I couldn't do Ahemji's anger achieved that. AS she's about to cut the nails, there's a shout: Rashi! Both Gopi & Rashi look up to find Koki in the doorway. Rashi has a scared look on her face. Koki: What's this you are doing? Why are you doing this? Rashi & Gopi look at each other. Rashi: Kakiji, Gopi's nail hurt Ahemji & the tea fell down. Koki: So what's the reason to cut the nails? Gopi is in tears. Koki: Definitely not! If you are scalded by hot milk, you don't stop drinking milk, you take care not to burn yourself & blow on it the next time you drink it. Similarly, all this is new for Gopi vau, that doesn't mean that her nails are cut. Like you, my Gopi vau mustn't have learnt how to apply make-up early in life, so now she'll learn & she'll have to take care. That doesn't mean she must cut her nails, understand? Anyway, instead of getting after your jethani's nails, if you'd take care of Holi festivals small things, it would've been better. Now go. Rashi sulks off. Koki: Gopi vau, I know well that decoration of nails is something new to you & neither am I in favour of spending hours in the parlour for all this. Especially when there's lots of work to be done at home. Then again, I feel that now that you've done this, you should keep on doing it & not leave it due to some small mistake. Understand? Gopi nods.

Next morning- Koki comes down the stairs & is shocked to see colours on the flooring & calls out to Rashi. We see a hand full of colour creeping behind her. Koki senses the presence & turns around to grab the hand as it was about to put colour on her. It's Nani with Jigar following. Koki: Maa, you've spoilt the floor & now want to spoil my sari too? Nani: Holi greetings. Koki:Holi greetiings to you too & to Jigar. Koki: Maa, you know that due to these colours I don't like to play holi & I never play holi. You know this very well. Jigar, & you too Maa, go to the backyard & play as much as you like. After the mess in the house & in clearing up the colours, we get tired. Nani:You've started with your 'Don't put colours on me'. This is holi, festival of colours. Arre Koyili, if you do like this, then your kids too will run from colours. And that's what they do, When do Ahem & Kinjal play Holi? (Nani never stops reminding Koki that she's not perfect & that her kids are following in her footsteps) Koki: Ok. She takes colour & tilaks Nani & Jigar who puts a tika on her. Koki: Ok, I've put the shagun ka tika. Nani: I'm from the village & we still play better holi than you city people of Rajkot. Jigar too adds his entrities, but Koki refuses saying she doesn't like it. Koki: If you really want to play Holi then where's your Rashi? Or has she gone to her pihar in Rajpalnagar? Rashi comes there & wishes all. Koki taunts her: Oh Rashi, when the milkman comes in the morning & gets tired of ringing the bell, you don't wake. When there's some religious activity in the house, during the day you yawn your head off. And today, you're awake before the sun! Nani: Leave it Koyili, you don't want to play, don't, but at least let the kids have fun. Rashi, don't mind anything that Koyili says to you today. Koki: Yes, don't mind as it's Holi & hopefully you won't mind my asking you, how come you didn't go to your pihar to play holi? Nani: If she's wanted, I wouldn't have allowed her. I'm lucky that my childhood friend & myself can enjoy having our grand-daughters-in-law in front of us. Besides, it's their first holi after marriage. Jeevan, come we've to colour everyone at home. Jigar: OK but I'm not Jeevan, I'm Jigar. They leave & Rashi follows, but Koki calls her back. Rashi: I'm going with them as I'll get aashirwad (& money). Koki: Of course, but when they'll lift their hand to give their blessing, they'll see the mess on the floor. Clean it up & then go out & play as much as you like outside. Rashi is upset & leaves.

Precap

Gopi is sweeping & has an envelope in her hand. Rashi takes it & sees it contains Rs 1000 notes. Rashi: Wow! Rs 5000 for putting colour? Where is mine? Koki, from behind: That I'll give to you.
