Shani Shingnapur is the sacred pilgrimage dedicated to Shanidev (Jupiter) near Nashik. The place is located at approximately 160km from Nashik and only 70km from Sai Baba’s Shirdi. The striking feature of Shani Shingnapur is that there are no doorframes, no latches or any other safety measures to guard the houses here. It is believed that nobody dares to steal anything because if done so Shani Deva punishes him. Another unique feature of Shani-Shingnapur is that a black stone pillar is worshipped here and not any image or idol of the deity.

Another specialty of Shani Shingnapur is that the male devotees have to take a head to toe bath and then enter the temple with the wet dhotis and no upper garment. The ladies are not allowed near Shanidev. The temple is open for the visitors for 24 hours.
