Odhani Rang Badalti Jaaye 9th February 2011 Written Update

hey all!

first of all a big hello to everyone i haven’t been on the forum much lately and i miss chatting with you all! so, interesting episode today. definitely one which can initiate a lot of debate and i couldn’t help putting in my take as well

Khanak Anand:
or khanand as we like to call them. i think it was vatsalya who said that the name ‘khanand’ reminds her of a gujrati sweetdish. thanks for that vat. don’t know if you were serious or joking but i feel the khanak anand scenes are just that. sweet to the core. and all those who think that khanak should not be friends with a stranger, well if i can forgive the CVs for that ‘hug’ between rahul and shaan, i can most definitely overlook this. at least khanak anand scenes are maha entertaining and so much more believable. RBO is one of those rare hindi serials which can actually create entertaining scenes between other characters apart from only the lead couple, which one tends to enjoy. case in point: sunil-shaan, sunil-khanak, dadi-khanak, shaan-akshay and now khanak-anand. i appericiate the CVs for that. i may sound very selfish but now that shanak have met, i hope the Cvs would not stop showing khanak anand scenes coz’ i really and truly enjoy them alot. ideal scenario would be shanak and anand together. so hopefully we’ll get that soon.

SHAAN KHANAK:
Scene 1:
i can not believe i am saying this but this is the first and hopefully the last time that i enjoyed a shanak scene second to any other in the same episode. i don’t know i was just kinda irritated with it. shaan’s romantic antics are getting annoying now and can you blame me. the only thing i liked about the scene was that it had yasharan in the same frame after like almost a week i think. that always lifts my mood. but on the shanak front, the rendevous was not very appealing.
Scene 2:
ok, so all is not lost. this scene i loved. i actually like the fact that there was no shouting match between the two (though i would’t mind one either ). khanak gave it to shaan in a very cool, firm and sarcastic manner and her dialogues were very well written. one in paticular about the ‘pyaar not being only about balloons and stuff’ hit bulls eye coz’ i was thinking that exact same thing when shaan was decorating the door with those blown up hearts.
precap looks promising. more sarcasm tommorrow. i am all for it.

CHARACTERS:
Shaan:
i can only come up with one explanation for his behaviour. shaan is actually high on a six pack of Red Bull energy drink. remember, ‘Red Bull gives you wings!’ as they say in the ad his head is still very much in the clouds and he seems to be very excited. i understand that the CVs are trying to restore RBO to it’s rom-com status pre Rock On, but a serious issue like accusation of infdelity, i STILL hope would be handled with a lil’ more seriousness than what is currently being shown.

Khanak:
some of us love the spunky khanak. some love the jhansi ki rani khanak and some appericiate the supportive wife khanak. my favourite khanak is the one who puts her point across in a dignified manner, putting the other person in his/her place with the appropriate yet powerful usauge of words. the way she told off shaan was better for me than if she had broken down and run away wiping her tears. that might come later when she is fed up of shaan taking the MMS issue so lightly and i would love to see that kind of intense shanak scene, but for their first meeting i wanted her to be like this and she was.

Anand:
my hopes from this guy have increased two fold after watching today’s episode. now i don’t only want him to reunite shanak but do two other jobs as well;
1. make khanak realize that it’s ok to think and live for oneself. the list scene was disappointing because i really wish we had heard what khanak realy wants to do in life. anand’s response makes me hopeful that he might just help her see that but knowing the CVs, it could have been done ans said just for the sake of this one scene. i really hope that it’s the former. this way, the next track can be about khanak studying or something and shaan working on his career side by side. just like most average young married couples of our generation.
2. his seond job is obvious. he needs to make shaan realize that marriage mein love or filmi romance ho na ho, trust and most imortantly understanding bohot zaroori hai. i know in tv and films, they show us that ‘love conquers all’ but in real life it is mostly not the case. a marriage is built on several elements, love being one of them but not the only one.

ACTORS:
Hiten is good. period. his experience shows.
YM is good. period. can give original expressions.
KT is good. period. just wish he was a tiny bit more raw and less ‘cool dude’ sometimes.
i have always said Manish can act and i am glad that he’s finally proving it. i still hate hate hate rahul though.
Ansha can definitely act but i think she looks a little older than manish. she is slim but her face look a bit aged.

P.S.
i never comment on shanak’s looks and clothes because frankly they don’t bother me much. as far as i am concerned, he being a man can wear that ugly orange and she that wig as long as both of them continue to act the way they do. they are good and nothing can distract me from their performances. so i guess kudos to them for that!
