The sprawling Mughal Gardens will be opened to the public for a month as part of the annual ‘Rashtrapati Bhavan Udyanotsav’. To be opened from Tuesday, February 15, the garden will showcase ‘vertical gardening’ as well as Bonsai style of gardening.

Mughal Garden Delhi 2011: The Mughal gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan will be opened for public viewing from February 15 to March 16. It will remain closed Monday for maintenance. Entering the gardens will be opened until 16 hours The main Mughal Garden is blooming with summer flowers such as roses, lilies, tulips, flowers and lawns thought double eye catching velvet green intercepted with lotus shaped fountains and blue water of the basic channels.
The Mughal Gardens, adjacent to the main building of Rashtrapati Bhavan covers an area of 15 acres.
They were designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens inspired by the beautiful gardens of Jammu and Kashmir, the garden around the Taj Mahal and Persian and Indian miniatures.
The Mughal Gardens consists of three parts: the first is the rectangular garden near the main Rashtrapati Bhavan building, which is divided into four quarters, each with terraced gardens on either side. The central lawn is the place to many receptions and “A House” hosted by the President.
