Bhaagon Waali 27th May 2011 Written Update

Runjhun rushes down to look for Guddu. She runs into Kalsanwali and asks her if she has seen Guddu. Kalsanwali taunts Runjhun and tells her that she runs after Guddu 24/7 and asks her if she was planning on sleeping the whole day. She hands Runjhun the bucket she is holding and tells her to get to work. Runjhun puts the bucket down and says no to Kalsanwali and says she needs to find Guddu and rushes out. (Runjhun actually said no to house chores)
Guddu is contemplating last night and thinks about Runjhun, and him kissing her on her cheek, then remembers the calendar. He says this isn't love, but infatuation and he needs to get over it, because for Runjhun, only the challenge is important. Runjhun comes over and finds Guddu. She rushes over to him. Guddu thinks that the dictionary of lies is walking over. Runjhun comes over and they both avoid looking at each other. (She is Runjhun Mishra again)
Runjhun hesitates then finally gets the courage to ask Guddu. She asks him what happened last night. Guddu says last night he was flying in the air, then he crashed hard, and today he's walking on the ground barefoot. Runjhun doesn't understand what he means. She tells him not to talk in riddles but tell her what happened last night. Guddu doesn't want to talk, and he walks off from there, and Runjhun chases after him, calling out to him.
Kalsanwali watches and wonders if the calendar thing worked. Runjhun tells Guddu to stop and says that she wants to know what happened last night. Guddu tells her that he doesn't want to talk about yesterday. Runjhun asks Guddu if she did something to cause him shame yesterday. She tells him that she wasn't herself. Guddu asks her if she really wasn't herself. Runjhun says she is feeling bad about whatever happened and asks him what happened. Guddu tells her she should feel bad. He tells her if she doesn't feel bad then she is shameless. He tells her that he knows to her she is not above playing games, and her game is the most important for her. To win her game, Runjhun will laugh, cry, dance.
Runjhun asks Guddu if they did something. Guddu says that he didn't do anything, it was all Runjhun, this time. He tells her that he doesn't have anything to say to her and walks off again, and Runjhun stops him and tells him to tell her clearly what happened. He says he doesn't want to talk about it and he is not her puppet to do what she wills him to do. Somebody comes along in their bicycle and sees Guddu and Runjhun together and tells Guddu that he's really become a family man that he's out with his wife. Guddu removes his anger on the man, and Runjhun tries to stop him. After the man leaves, Runjhun asks Guddu why is he removing his anger on someone else.
He tells her he will tell her what she wants to know exactly. He asks her if she wants to know if they crossed any line. Runjhun looks away. Guddu says that yesterday they did cross the line. He did touch her. He tells her that he's not so cheap as to take advantage of a girl who is intoxicated. He tells her that when he talks to people he looks them in the eye, and the others might look away but he's never done anything low and cheap that he has to look away. He tells her when he looks into her eye he sees no feeling. He tells her that to her her bet is all that matters. She wants to win, and he will see to it that she loses. He tells her that this bet has made his life hell. Runjhun says that till now he didn't understand her. She tells him that she made the bet, but it wasn't because she wanted him to win. She says no matter how she explains things to him, he doesn't understand. She says she keeps forgetting that the life of their marriage is only till the bet ends, of five days.
Guddu says that now she has remembered. He tells her that they have no relationship other than that of a bet. No marriage, nothing, just that of her bet with him. He tells her that will be over in five days, and says that beyond that they have nothing. He tells her all she has is five days. Runjhun looks disheartened as Guddu walks away.
At home Mittho is looking for Runjhun as Runjhun has done none of her chores for the day. Billo says she is looking for Runjhun too, and Mittho says all the work is left. Kalsanwali comes and says that what they'd planned worked and narrates to them what she saw between Guddu and Runjhun. Then Kalsanwali and Mittho each try to take credit for the plan and Guddu and Runjhun being apart and fighting. They all three fight back and forth and Billo says its not important who did what, as long as it happened. They continue fighting and in the end all three turn away from each other. (I condensed the scene here, was in a hurry)
Mahadevi contemplates how to go to the medical store and get medicine, the abortion pills. She doesn't want anyone to see her or the store owner to ask any questions. The store clerk asks Mahadevi what she wants and since there is another man in the store she asks for chocolates. As the man leaves she hands the store clerk a sheet for abortion pills, and tells him that it is for a friend of hers. The man says he can't give it to her without a doctor's order, and she tells him to take more money but give her the pills. The man thinks about it then agrees.
Runjhun is still thinking about how Guddu changes. She wonders how he can again change so suddenly. She says she doesn't know how to explain to him that the only reason she kept the challenge was so that he never leaves the house and goes. She is thinking about that and spots Mahadevi in the store. She walks towards Mahadevi and Mahadevi tells the clerk to hurry then spots Runjhun and starts telling the clerk to give her digestion pills. The clerk is confused but writes out the medicine.
Runjhun asks Mahadevi what happened and Mahadevi tells her she was ill, but Runjhun asks her why she came this far to get medicine. Mahadevi tells her why she asks so many questions and asks her if she was following her. Runjhun says she wasn't following Mahadevi, she'd come here talking to Guddu. Mahadevi asks her if Guddu left her alone here, and Runjhun doesn't say anything. Runjhun asks Mahadevi why is she buying medicine she already has, and Mahadevi says that she must have forgotten, and goes to leave. Then she wonders what if Runjhun tries to ask the store owner about the medicine. Runjhun on the other hand is still lost in her thoughts, but Mahadevi drags Runjhun away and tells her they will go home together.
Guddu is on the cliff throwing rocks in the water, when he hears a voice, his own voice echoing from the mountains. The voice asks him why is he sitting here like a forlorn Devdas and throwing rocks in the water. The voice tells him that love is for normal people, and not for people like him, and he's forgotten who he is. Guddu looks around for the voice but only sees vast land. The voice tells him to forget all that has happened and in the remaining five days to do all he can to win. The voice says living in Kannauj it is more important to be smart to survive than to be caught in unnecessary traps.
Guddu thinks that how he was with Runjhun before is the best way to be then he won't have to deal with this constant back and forth of emotions. He says that in the next five days he will treat Runjhun the way he always has.
Next Week: The mamis are back to dictating chores for Runjhun. Kalsanwali drags RUnjhun, and as Runjhun tries to pull away, Guddu walks in. Kalsanwali lets go seeing Guddu, and Runjhun falls backwards. Guddu rushes immediately to hold her. He then walks up to Kalsanwali and tells her that Runjhun has become lazy and that they should give her as much work as they can. Kalsanwali looks surprised so does everyone else.

Bhaagon Waali 28th March 2011 Written Update

Runjhun is at the temple, and is front of Kali Maa, and says that she doesn't know if she will be helped or not, but she says she has to win this fight. Runjhun says she can not watch her Amma live like this and suffer like this.
At home Mittho and Kalsanwali take revenge on their husbands for not saying anything in front of Guddu and defending them. Mittho puts Chilli in Rajju's food and water and Kalsanwali drops the heavy stands on Vishnu's hands. They both apologize to their respective wives and promise to defend them next time.
Even Buntu is in the doghouse with his wife. Buntu is standing outside his room pleading with Billo to let him in as she didn't let him in the whole night. He sings for her and she opens the door. She says that yesterday he didn't help her. Buntu said he wanted to. Billow says he has to get gold for her to apologize. Buntu agrees. She tells him to go down to the shop and handle business and she will go down and check on the rickshaws.
Billo goes down and finds that her rickshaws are gone. She calls Buntu but he doesn't know anything. Kukkan tells them that Guddu is trying to expand their business and that's why he's put them for pick up and drop off. He says that there is also a sale at their sari shop where if you buy sari's you get perfume bottle free and if you buy a perfume bottle you get a sari free.
Billo, Buntu, Mittho and Rajju try to stop as Guddu gives away the perfume and saris at discounted rate. Vishnu and Kalsanwali watch happily, enjoying the scene. Vishnu says that Rajju and buntu won't dare speak against him now.
Runjhun comes back form the temple and is angry to see the scene unfolding in front of her.
Guddu sees Runjhun and tells Kukkan the bad luck of his life has come. He says that now the business will go down. Runjhun comes and asks him why he's doing all of this and why is he troubling her family members like this. She refers to him as "aap" and he wonders why suddenly he's getting so much respect in this family. Runjhun asks him why he married her. She says that marriage is a commitment and the husband makes promises while he does the saath pheras.
Guddu moves away from Runjhun. He asks his dharampatni why she stopped talking. Runjhun says that when a man marries a woman, he commits to seven promises. For the first, the husband promises to honor all customs and traditions of his wife. In the second promise, the husband honors the wife's family as he would his own. As part of the third promise the husband promises to take care of his wife. The fourth promise the husband makes is to provide for his family.
Guddu tells Kukkan that Runjhun is a holy scholar, also, now. Runjhun tells Guddu that she's not a holy scholar, but these are the promises a husband makes to his wife. For the fifth promise, the husband will always honor the wife's opinion. The sixth promise is that he will keep away from anything that would dishonor his wife, including drinking or gambling. She says for the final promise the husband will not look at any other woman inappropriately, and will treat the woman as is required of their age, and with respect. (Guddu has already broken all seven it seems)
Guddu gets angry and kicks the carom table and tells Runjhun that she is going to lecture him, and tell him how to live his life. He says he doesn't need lessons form her. Runjhun retorts that she's not giving him lessons or lecturing him. She is reminding him of the vows he took when he married her. She tells him that he stood up with great pride when he announced himself as her husband, but to be a good husband, one has to be a good man. Guddu claps.
He says so all of this is to try to make him a good man. He tells Runjhun to remove any such notion from her head, that she will change him. He says that the only reason he got married to her was to take revenge not to become a good person. Runjhun says that she is his wife, and her husband will be a good husband. She says that she will change his actions. Guddu says that even if God comes down from heaven it won't happen. Runjhun says that God doesn't change a person, the circumstances do. Guddu tells her to shed any misconceptions she has. He asks her if she's going to teach him Gandhigiri. She says yes. He tries to leave and she stops him and says that she won't deter from her path, he will be the one to change his path. She knows that he doesn't have a bad heart, it's just his way chosen that is bad. Guddu doesn't say anything and leaves.
Runjhun calls out to him, and tells him that they will eat dinner together and tells him to come home early. Guddu says that will never happen. Runjhun Shukla and Guddu Shukla will never eat dinner together and tells her she can wait as long as she wants. He leaves.
Precap: Runjhun is cooking and waiting for Guddu. He arrives late, drunk.

Bhaagon Waali 25th March 2011 Written Update

The aunts and uncles are now wondering how they are going to get the 10 lakhs. Buntu says he doesn’t know anything about that since it was between Guddu, Vishnu and Rajju. Billo says that how can they trust the other brothers are not trying to swindle them. Kalsanwali and mittho object and say what need do they have to swindle Billo and Buntu. Mittho inadvertently reveals that Vishnu and Rajju already got beaten up by Guddu so they won’t try to mess around with Guddu. Buntu asks Billo when it happened.

Billo shares the story with Rajju and Vishnu and they share a laugh at the expense of Rajju and Vishnu. Guddu comes (drinking again), and asks Buntu why he’s smiling. Buntu loses his smile quickly. Runjhun comes out hearing Guddu’s voice. Guddu tells Buntu to smile, like he was doing, but Buntu is hesitant and asks Billo. Guddu says that he should do something on his own, why does he always ask Billo before doing anything. He says if Buntu doesn’t smile he’s going ot break all his teeth. Buntu smiles.

Guddu says that he has such a brilliant smile. Buntu gets scared and loses his smile again. Guddu tells him why he lost his smile and Buntu smiles again. Guddu tells him to stop smiling and slaps him. Runjhun rushes down. Guddu tells Buntu he has no shame laughing on his elder brothers. Runjhun comes and tells Guddu to stop doing what he doing.

Guddu gets angry and tells her that she’s to blame for all of this. She’s his life’s biggest curse. He raises his hand and asks how dare she interfere in his matter. Rajju and Vishnu get up, and Runjhun asks Guddu why he stopped. He says he should show his manliness and hit her. After all there are many men that hit their wife to show how strong they are, so he can also hit his wife and show everyone what a man he is. Otherwise he will lose his respect.

Guddu drops his hand, much to Mittho and Kalsanwali’s disappointment. . He says he won’t slap her, and never will because he doesn’t raise hand on women. He says but he will hit Runjhun. He will hit her where it hurts her the most. He takes a swig from his bottle and walks directly to Amma’s room. He tells Amma to move. Amma doesn’t move so he starts throwing things in the room to scare her. Runjhun rushes to Amma’s room. Guddu says he’s asking Amma with lot of love and politeness.

He sits in front of Amma and says that she gave him a condition that he will stay at home and be a son-in-law, but her family keeps mistreating him. He says that he has to ask a million times for breakfast, the mamas and mamis don’t listen till they get beaten up. Most of all her granddaughter keeps challenging him.

Guddu tells them to stop doing drama and leave already. Runjhun tries to persuade Amma to stay, but Amma says she’s leaving, and tells Guddu that she will do anything he asks, but she tells him not to mistreat Runjhun. Guddu says that there’s always a condition and tells Amma to leave. Amma leaves despite Runjhun’s protest. Guddu turns to Runjhun and tells her that he warned her that he will hit her where it hits the most, so next time she should think before speaking up.

Mittho, Kalsanwali and Billo are laughing among themselves and Guddu catches them. He says they’re enjoying it all a little too much. He’s not putting on a show for them to enjoy. He says if they want to enjoy, he will give them reason to enjoy. He calls Billo first (He calls her a jewelry store), and tells her to bring his things down from the top room. Buntu offers to do it for her but Guddu tells him to move aside and do the work. Billo leaves in a huff, and Mittho and Kalsanwali try to leave as well but he calls Mittho next (he calls her a Meethi Churi – Someone who sweetly makes cutting remarks). He tells Mittho to make preparation for his food. Kalsanwali offers to help, but he calls her to clean the room (the Gram Pradhan’s (The village Chief) Laadli is his nickname for Kalsanwali).

He makes them serve him while he drinks and eats, and the husbands watch. Guddu falls asleep and the mamis dump their work and leave. They run into Runjhun. Mittho tells Runjhun to take care of her husband. Runjhun cleans up, and lays Guddu down to sleep. (I think we’re past the point of counting touches) She covers him up and remembers Amma’s pleading tone. She says that Amma was never like that before. She says she’s going ot bring Amma’s happiness back and the only way to do that is to change Guddu’s lifestyle and his way of thinking. She says she will bring Amma out of her guilt.

Next Week: Runjhun is at the temple, and praying to Kali Maa, and says that she doesn’t know if she will get help or not, but she can’t allow Amma to live a suffocated life anymore. Runjhun says she is going to win this battle and give a new life to her Amma. A life of happiness.

Bhaagon Waali 15th March 2011 Written Update

Rajju says that the simple truth is that Runjhun is married to Guddu. Amma says that the other rituals such as the garland exchange and the welcoming of the groom and the other rituals were performed with the other groom. She says that not all rituals were performed with Guddu so how can they announce Guddu as the husband. The others are now not sure of their support of Guddu and the Pandit says that they will have to consult a someone higher who has more knowledge and understanding of the all the rituals, and customs. The Mahan Ji comes and contemplates the issue. He says whatever he chooses will have to be the final decision of his and no one can raise objections after that. Amma agrees and so does everyone else. He says that the bride has the right to choose her groom and that's why the exchange of the garlands is an important ritual because the bride willingly welcomes the groom in her life. Like Sita and Ram. Vishnu and Rajju protest that what is the basis of this decision. The Mahan Ji says its because it signifies the acceptance of the groom by the bride into her life. He then goes on and says that the exchange of garlands is only the first half and it by itself makes the marriage incomplete. He says the completion of the marriage requires four aspects the kanyadaan, where the bride is handed over to the groom. The knot tied between groom and bride, followed by the seven rounds which are the seven vows of the groom and bride. Then the sindoor. So taking into consideration all of that, Guddu is Runjhun's true husband. Runjhun feels faint and Amma holds her. After Mahan Ji leaves, Amma says that she has a condition that Guddu will stay at the house. She says she can't let Runjhun go off with Guddu, because she doesn't trust him. Guddu agrees. The mamas and mamis are shocked and upset. Amma takes Runjhun away. Kukkan questions Guddu about his decision and Guddu says that it was the best in the situation. Vishnu also questions Guddu's intent. Guddu says that Vishnu only told him that Runjhun musn't leave the house at all cost and that she shouldn't get married to Shashi. So he is keeping his promise. He says he also knows what Vishnu is capable of, and last time for a small amount he hassled Guddu so this time till he gets his money he's not leaving. Vishnu tells him, he will get his money. Guddu responds that as soon as he gets his money he will leave. Amma hugs Runjhun and consoles her. She says she doesn't know what God has in mind for her. She tells Runjhun not to lose hope. She leaves to go get water as Runjhun sits and contemplates her unlucky fate. Guddu is waiting for his money, Vishnu talks to Rajju and Buntu regarding the money. Vishnu says that since it was his idea, he will shell out 2 lakhs but Buntu and Rajju have to shell out the remaining two lakhs. Buntu says that he has to ask Billo, and Rajju says the money can't be arranged that quickly. Runjhun pulls her garland from her neck, and throws it. She takes of the jewelry and is about ot wipe the sindoor from her forehead when Amma stops her. She tells Runjhun that this is inauspicious. Runjhun says her life has become inauspicious. She tells Amma that when even God doesn't want her to be happy, what can she do. Amma tells Runjhun that the sindoor isn't only the mark of a husband but a women's strength also. She says someday, Runjhun's strength will come to fruit, and maybe something good will come out of a bad situation. Runjhun asks Amma to leave her alone. Amma leaves discouraged, and Runjhun closes the door and cries at her fate. Precap: Runjhun washes the sindoor off with water.

Bhagonwali 7th February 2011 Written Update

Amma gets medicine for Runjhun who is in bed with fever, and helps her take it. As Runjhun rests, Amma goes to shrine in Runjhun's room, and pleads fro a solution. She says that Guddu has given her granddaughter, tears of blood, and he should suffer the same. She says that he's maligned her honor in such a way, that she can't even find a boy for Runjhun. She asks God fro a way out for Runjhun.

Guddu is still shocked at whatever he heard, when Kukkan and Jabbo come to him and discuss something about one of them trying to be in movies. Guddu is barely listening when Jabbo asks him what the matter is. Guddu looks at him but his mind is elsewhere. Jabbo comments that the phone must have been from Runjhun Mishra, which sets Guddu off and he pushes Jabbo away in anger before taking off on his bike in anger. Kukkan and Jabbo say that definitely something is the matter. They haven't seen Guddu like this before.

Amma tells Mittho that Runjhun's fever keeps on going up, and requests her to call the doctor. Mittho says that what is the need to call the doctor, if she brews the herbal medicine and gives it to Runjhun, it will make her fine in a day. Amma then requests Mittho to make the herbal medicine, which make Mittho want to bite her tongue for suggesting it in the first place. She tells Amm that she would have made it, but she doesn't have the necessary ingredient like jaggery, etc. She passes the task to Kalsanwali who also says she doesn't have the ingredients and says Billo purchased those yesterday. Billo says she doesn't know how to make the herbal brew and even if she did she wouldn't make it. Amm says that their words are bitter than the medicine, and decides to brew it herself instead of leaving it to the aunts.

The phone rings and Amma picks up the phone. Lakhan Mishra answers on the other end saying he's always concerned about her and Runjhun, their only well-wisher. Amma asks him why he's called. She's already sending him money, and asks him whether he didn't receive the last payment. He says it's not about the money. He is sad on hearing about Runjhun's broken engagement. He says he's found a boy in Kanpur that is really nice, and very wealthy too. Amma says she doesn't trust him, to which he replies that he is much better than her daughter-in-laws who don't want Runjhun to get married and serve them in the house for entirety. He says that Runjhun's name was marred in Kannauj but in Kanpur no one will know. He tells Amma to consider it, and Amma hangs up the phone.

Guddu drives up to an isolated place where a house/building looks like its been burned down. There's a woman standing in front of the building and Guddu walks up to her.

Runjhun is sleeping when Mittho comes in and curses her mentally saying that she is sleeping like a queen. She takes the cloth that is placed on the forehead, and instead squeezes rh water on Runjhun, waking her in the process. She apologizes that it wasn't intentional, and Runjhun says its fine. Mittho then tells Tunjhun that her uncle gave her some lottery tickets and she can't figure out what numbers would be winning numbers, and asks her to pick some. Billo interrupts them and brings in a fresh stock of saris carried by Buntu and asks Runjhun to check it. Runjhun is confused but Billo says that from now onwards Runjhun will check the stock to make sure nothing is wrong with it. Kalsanwali comes in and pushes aside everyone, and hand Runjhun a pad of paper and pen.

She wants Runjhun to write a speech for her father's next election. Runjhun says she's never written a speech before, and all the three aunts argue that Runjhun will do their work first. Kalsanwali tells Runjhun to write a speech and narrates some nonsensical words put together that no one understands including Runjhun. Amma comes and Mittho and Kalsanwali grab their stuff and hide it. She asks them what they are doing here, and why can't they let Runjhun rest. Runjhun says it wasn't anything big, and narrates what her aunts wanted her to do. Amma tells them that Runjhun won't do anything. Mittho complains that she won't even let them give Runjhun light work, and they all leave. Amma wonders what the three aunts are up to, trying to give Runjhun work like that.

The woman tells Guddu something that makes him cry and fall to his knees. He seems angry and frustrated as well as sad. He composes him self, and says that he will leave Kannauj. He says that he will leave tonight itself.

The uncles and aunts are discussing the events of the day, and Vishnu and Rajju says that they shouldn't have doen what they did, because Amma will start suspecting that they know Runjhun is lucky. Rajju says that any work they want done can be done slowly, and there no need to hurry.
Amma comes by the door and hears the uncles and aunt discussing Runjhun and stays to listen. Mittho tells Rajju that Amma is already planning on getting Runjhun married. Usha told her that Amma had gone to see about a proposal. Vishnu tells Mittho not to worry, as no boy in Kannauj will marry Runjhun. He says they won't let anyone else marry Runjhun either, and she will be stuck with them. Billo wonders what they will do about Amma. Kalsanwali says that Amma is already old and almost close to her grave, and even if she isn't they can always ensure a quick route. Amma is worried and disturbed the conversation of her sons and daughter in laws.

Guddu goes to his home (I believe it's his home) and opens a chest and rifles through his stuff, and is in tears. He picks up a photo of a female, and shakes his head. He says that if anyone in Kannauj would see him now, they would be shocked to see him in tears. He says he's stone-hearted, and has no feeling according to them. He says he can't let them see what he really is, and has to be stone-hearted because otherwise the world would eat him alive, He looks at the photo and tells the girl/woman in the picture that he can't lie to her. After all all his feelings are inspired from her.

Precap: Mittho is crying saying that all is lost, as her daughter (I think she means her daughter) took everything and ran away.
