Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who turned 24 recently, says she always wanted to be a star and not just another actor. “For me, stardom is a new and novel experience… it’s lovely. That’s why I became a film actor… I wanted that… I wanted to act and be something. If I only wanted to be an actor, I would have done theatre. But I actually wanted to be a star and I make no bones about that,” Sonam told IANS in an interview here.Sonam, who made her Bollywood debut in 2007 with “Saawariya” and later featured in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s “Delhi 6″, says stardom definitely brings more pressure but she knows how to manage it.“There is added pressure but I have been brought up in a way that I am extremely confident of who I am,” she said.The actress is also aware of the three-decade-old body of work her father Anil Kapoor carries behind him and says besides looking up to him for advice, she also takes due advantage of being his daughter.

“My dad says he survived in the industry for 30 years because he didn’t concentrate on what people wanted him to do, but what he was convinced about. He was not part of the rat race and that’s what I am going to do – that’s what I have learnt from him.“I am not part of the rat race. I just want to do films. Having someone like him in my family is an advantage and I make complete use of the fact,” she added.Sonam is at the ongoing International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards for her first stage performance and says she is extremely nervous.“I am nervous. I have butterflies in my stomach that are going all the way up to my head. The dress that I am wearing is very elaborate. It’s by Anamika Khanna and is pink, red and black in colour and has a lot of glitter and sequins like most show outfits. I hope the outfit stays. But I am excited as well,” she said.

As of now, Sonam is looking forward to her home production “Ayesha” as well as Mehra’s “Sahibaan”.

Thank You’ Movie First Look: fresh pairing Akshay Kumar with Sonam Kapoor: For all those cine buffs who wanted to see the fresh pairing of Sonam Kapoor and Akshay Kumar here is a sneak peek into their film Thank You.

Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film is a comedy ,based in Canada, with many stars including Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sunil Shetty and Celina Jaitley. Anees who has given hit comedies like Welcome and No Entry is working for the first time with Sonam and this film is also the actress’s first comedy.

Though Sonam is quite young in comparison to Akki, after seeing the images, unveiled by Sonam on her site and also on Twitter, we can say the duo looks fresh and can bring out a smashing chemistry on screen. The movie is releasing April 8.

Beauty Sonam Kapoo Now Learns Some Acting Lessons

Recently, while shooting for the movie, Sonam was said okay only after giving one or two takes whereas Shahid had to give four to five takes to get a green signal from the director. This simple incident made the silly girl think that she is more spontaneous than her co-star, who is much more experienced than her in the industry.

The sources from the unit have some other angle to the story. As per the sources, the director thought that Sonam cannot do better than this with just three years of experience in the industry so she was shown the green signal after two takes. She was not pushed much to give something better. On the other hand, expectations were high from Shahid after his fantastic performance in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey. So, the director pushed him until he offered his best, Pankaj knew that his son can do much better so did not stop until four or five takes.

But this gave Sonam an idea of being superior to Shahid in acting! She did not think that her range is limited and Shahid has much more variety in him. We hope, the girl realises it soon and better learns some acting lessons from her humble father Anil Kapoor, who is considered to be one of the greatest actors of Bollywood!

Sonam Kapoor and Imran Khan who made such a lovey-dovey duo in I Hate Luv Storys seem to be at loggerheads. First, it was Imran who allegedly passed a taunt at Sonam while appearing on the show Koffee With Karan.
