Vikram got Doctorate from Italy University

Vikram Got Conferred Honorary Doctorate at Italy UniversityVersatile star Vikram has been conferred honorary doctorate by a University in Italy for his excellence in acting. Universita Popolare Degli Studi Di Milano (UUPN) which is popularly known as People’s University in Milan has conferred the doctorate of fine arts in acting to Chiyan Vikram.

Vikram is supposedly the first ever Indian actor to have recieved the doctorate from a European university for their contribution to cinema. The star recieved the doctorate in the presence of delegates from China and West Africa in a ceremony on Sunday.

Vikram addressed the gathering and received the honour. Prof Dr Marco Grapecia who is the President of the university, members of the planning commission of China and special invitees were present at the ceremony.

The star will be back in India in the first week of June. He is currently busy promoting his film Deiva Thirumagal which is releasing in Telugu as ‘Nanna’. It stars Anushka Shetty in the lead role.

Vikram's Award Winning perfomance in 'Deiva Thiru Magan'

Vikram’s scorching heat performance in ‘Pithamaghan’ won him incredible accolades that includes National award. Although the actor continued to gear up for power-packed performances in various movies, he wasn’t able to bag the honors again. But now, the actor keeps his fingers crossed that his upcoming film ‘Deiva Thiru Magan’.

The actor acclaims director Vijay’s skills as he admits that he was his complete inspiration on every shot. The entire crew except Anushka and Amala Paul were absent and that was a mere disappointment for the ‘Lenses’ as they hoped to click best shots of these glam-beauties.

Vikram unraveled a surprising element that for the first time, Anushka takes on deglamorized roles and is sure to win awards.

The audio launch of ‘Deiva Thiru Magan’ will be held on April 14 followed by film’s release in May.

It’s a question whether any other actor of his stature would come forward to do this role, that too at a time when a ‘commercial’ hit is badly needed to make fans happy. But Vikram has done it. The actor has played Krishnan, a grown up adult whose mental growth is that of a five-year-old, in his forthcoming film ‘Deiva Thiru Magan,’, directed by ‘Madrasapattinam’ fame Vijay and produced by Mogan Nadarajan.

And those who got an opportunity to watch clippings from the film are awestruck by the Cheeyan’s performance. “He is simply the best. Many coveted awards are waiting for Vikram’s performance in this film,” a source tells us. Says director Vijay, “since the actions of Vikram’s character are as pure as gold, quite like a child, we used to call him ‘Chella Kutty Krishnan’. Besides playing the lead role, he has also sung a song in Deiva Thiru Magan.”

Director Vijay debuted as a director through the film Kireedom which had Ajith in the lead role. He got the status of one of the leading directors after directing the film Madrasapattinam. He is now directing a film titled Deiva Magan which has Vikram in the lead role. The story of this film is about a father who struggles for his seven year old daughter. Vikram is donning the role of a mentally retarded person while Anushka dons the role of an attorney who supports Vikram.

Amala Paul is also donning an important role in this film. Director Vijay has planned to release this film during the month of April. He also mentioned that the title of the film Deiva Magan is under consideration and also can be changed. The new title for the film is Pitha and the film makers are likely to settle for this title. From a long time the film is looking to go for a title change as director Ameer is also holding same title Deiva Magan for his next film to be made with veteran actor Prabhu’s son, debutant Vikram Prabhu. As the title is already taken over by Ameer Vikram and director Vijay are in plans for a perfect name for their film. It is being rumored that both of them may go for Pitha.

Vikram, after singing all the songs (male) in Susi Ganesan’s  Kanthasamy, which had music by Devi Sri Prasad, is now once again crooning. The music grapevine is abuzz that Vikram has insisted on singing all the songs himself for Vijay directed Deivamagan.

GV Prakash the music director of the film had recently tweeted: “waiting for Deivamagan audio release. do listen to my favourite, my personal favourite Vizhigalil Oru Vaanavil. The song has come out really well and has potential to be a chartbuster.” However, GV has not revealed who has written the lyrics and sang the song.  Remember GV Prakash-Vijay combo songs have always been chartbusters. The team has come out with some of the best melodies in recent times. Who can forget the lilting melodies of Kireedam and Madrasapattinam!
