Heylo Ladies & Welcome to the Maha Shivratri Special of our beloved show Laagi Tujhse Lagan episode 270 on this 2nd day of March 2011
Yesterday Baji dazzled us with a lot of fireworks but Seema managed to pour water over our small victory over Kalawati by displaying a lot of weakness in front of her. We saw Kala begin her psychological manipulation over a confused & distressed Seema.Chalo lets see how far Lady macbeth pf PN Manor has succeeded in downing yet another member of Camp Dutta.
Kala-Seema
Episode begins in D’s room where Seema was standing staring at D’s picture longingly. Kala accuses D of playing on Seema’s emotional vulnerability by using her as his eyes and then throwing her to the wolves and escaping with his dear wife. Seema gathers her wits for a bit & questions Kala why is she bothering to tell her all this.Kala tells her that’s because she has a lot of sympathy for her.She is the reason Seema is here else Chaskar would have had a field day with her.Seema is tensed at the thought of Chaskar.Seema tells her sarcastically that a woman who has nothing for her brother but hate has sympathy for his friend. Kala cleverly deflects Seema’s belief that she wishes to harm D by telling her that her enmity is with Nakusha not D. Nakusha is the one who created a wall of separation between her brother & her. She might forgive D but Nakusha is definitely going to die.That Nakusha who also a barrier between Seema & D.If Seema supports Kala in offing Nakusha D might be hers forever.Seema becomes pensive after hearing this.Kala leaves her to mull over the new suggestion.
(Skillful mind games by Kala here with a morally weak Seema. But I feel several meetings with Nakusha & the over a month spent with D would have taught Seema a few home truths. Ideally she should play a double agent game right back with Kala by misleading her & making her run in circles thus buying some more time for D.But don’t know how the CVs intend to play her in the coming episodes.It would be sad & disappointing to see her turn negative at this point in the story.Currently the crap promos I’m seeing for other shows during LTL makes me wary really.)
D-Nakku
Nakusha is planting a tulsi plant in the aangan of her new house. She says a house is incomplete without a Tulsi.She helps D water the plant.
(D is so eager to be part of everything Nakusha does. He is so quick to oblige his wife in this ordinary task.In his previous life he wouldn’t even know where the Tulsi is planted in his own home.)
Chaskar-Phattu
Chaskar & Phattu are disguised as policemen & are sticking posters of D & nakku around some village.People are surprised & ask them about the persons in the posters.Phattu tells them the man in the poster is a mad man, a killer, he can kill anyone anywhere & the girl with him has been abducted by him. People are shocked to hear this. Phattu also informs them anyone who brings in the man or info about him will be
rewarded with Rs 200,000. People are pleased to hear this.Phattu points to a mobile number printed on the poster & says to call that number if anybody has any info. Chaskar reiterates the reward for info for people to dwell on it.
With their deed done Chaskar & Phattu then walk out of there happily.
(Kya haal bana rakha hai khudka? Jaldi marte kyun nahi?)
Back at D-Nakku
Back amidst the beautiful valleys of the Sahyadris D & Nakku are still in the aangan of their home.D is sitting thoughtfully on a short wall while Nakku is frantically looking around for any small village or hamlet.D is so forlorn & lost in his thoughts about AS.
He remembers sleeping with his head in AS’s lap & the last convo with her when she had asked him to be home soon for Nakku’s vigyapan. Nakku says disappointedly to D that she can’t see a living soul around. It would be hard to find any food here.
She walks towards D saying this & notices D is very sad. She asks him about his sad silence & he replies is he such a bad person? (No sweetheart!Don’t say that!Not a better person has walked this earth than you) He says he caused nothing but pain to those close to him.First Nakku now his family.He says he has promised AS he would return soon but so many days has passed he hasn’t seen her.She must have worried sick over him by now.Nakku assures him that Baji is there to look after her. AS also has her daughters & Kishore.D replies that he was the one who caused her pain & he can do nothing about it at all. He is tired of this helplessness. (CVs please even we are at the end of our tether.Please remove this disability soon.It is becoming so unbearable to watch)
D vows to punish those caused so much misery to his dear AS.Each one will pay once his eyesight is back Saying this he buries his head in his hands in utter frustration.
(This is one of the saddest scenes I’ve ever watched in LTL.The last time I was this distressed was the night of Sups elopement when he was thrashing in his bed in pain & horror.But back then he had his eternal armour; the rage & the physical strength to cope. Now he is completely stripped of everything & he stands completely hopeless.I want this to end soon)
Nakku is extremely distressed to see the state of despair her husband had fallen into. She collects two big round stones & thus does the sthapnaa of Shiv-Parvati idols. D is mildly surprised at his wife’s activity.She leads D towards the idols & tells him these are the parents of her best friend Bappa.They will surely help them in their time of need. D retorts back saying you Bappa listens to you na?Ask him why I have lost my eyesight, why my Aayi has to suffer so much, why his brother/friend is in so much pain.He tells her to ask her Bappa why despite the love of his life being in front of him he can’t see her? Why is Bappa playing games with him? D is slowly working himself into rage.Nakku explains to him that Bappa is the one to give & then take it away too & is testing them.Each moment of one’s life is a test for them & they have to pass it. Bappa wants to know the extent of devotion of those who have faith in him. He has always tested me but I never backed off.Even now he is testing me by taking away your eyesight but I still will not back off.
Nakku then prays to give her husband his sight back.She makes an impassioned plea for mercy to the deities. D says no point in pleading with stones.Nothing will be gained out of it & he will not bow down to them but Nakku continues with her prayers. D turns away in a sulk
(Loved MR’s voice modulation in the whole scene here.I have been saying this for long now there is no need for such jarring background music for his scenes.His voice alone is ample to carry across the essence of the scenes beautifully. His frustration touches the heart & we too join Nakku in her ardent prayers for the well being of her beloved.
The way he remembers his mother was very heart wrenching to watch.The pain, guilt, frustration, the helplessness chokes us with emotion.Superbly enacted scene.But it must end soon. It’s been two months already.While this too is a facet of his personality, the way he copes with this disability enough has been portrayed already. We really need to see him preapare for war now for that to happen we need his sight back asap)
A couple who are dressed as villagers are looking angrily towards where D & Nakku are & start to walk towards them puposefully.Enter Mahadev & Sundari, the foot soldiers who will help the injured & diabled King to regain everything he has lost.
D senses the arrival of these newcomers & is tensed. Mahadev & Sundari reach where Nakku is still praying & D quickly grabs a stick off the ground & is ready for any sort of attack. (Loved the way the camera zooms around D )
The newcomers glare at our couple angrily & Mahadev screams at them what they are doing? D senses from where the sound is coming & attacks Mahadev with the stick. Mahadev flies off at a distance as his wife screams in horror. Mahadev charges again towards D & D inturn grabs him by the neck.The woman screams at Nakku to tell her husband to stop hurting Mahadev. Nakku tries to pull D off him but D tries to strangle him some more. Nakku pleads with him again & finally D lets him go. Mahadev angrily asks D is assaulting him on his own land.Nakku asks for forgiveness on behalf of her husband. Sundari demands to know what they are doing in their forest. Are they trying to usurp the empty house? D & Nakku are appalled hearing this. Nakku assures them that they have no such intentions they only wanted a place for the night.Naku asks if the place belongs to them to which Sundari replies no the place belongs to the village head but he has passed away so Mahadev being the new pradhan now takes care of the property. D folds his hands and says they are only guests here.Strangely the couple start smiling to themselves the moment these words are out. D tells them they are the true owners of the land.He apologises to them & they look very pleased. Nakku expresses concerns over the honesty of the newcomers but D says this jungle belongs to Jagtap Dada.there is no place here for dishonet & bad persons.Only the truthful & honest live here.Mahadev’s ears prick up hearing Jaggu’s name. He asks D how he knows Jagtap.Nakku says its a long story. She tells him once before too they were forced into hiding in these jugles by enemies. jagtap has helped them at the time.Mahadev says Jagtap was a good man & they considered him as a guru.Mahadev asks them how did they land in the jungle.Nakku introduces D as Shreeram Dutta Patil & herself.She says they were attcked by enemies & that’s why they are hiding in the forest. Mahadev says they are peace loving people & they do not want any bloodshed here.D folds his hand & asks for forgiveness.He says he did not intend to hurt him. He was only tryingto protect his wife.He asks to stay here for a few days. ( A proud man that he is, it is killingD to ask for help from strangers. This part is played beautifully by MR ) Mahadev asks him why is he looking in another direction while speaking to him.Nakku informs him about the loss of D’s sight in the enemy assault.
Both Mahadev & Sundari are shocked.
Screen freezes for the day on an emabarrased & self concious D & a sad Nakusha.
Precap: Kala is still instigating Seema to join her to destroy Nakku so that she & D can be bound for life with each other.
Episode was good though a bit thanda. MR was first rate as always. Kala & Seema were like a week old milk. The newcomers look promising enough. The man looks fit to be D’s right hand as said in the news reports. Hope the coming episodes focus on these two preparing to take on Chaskar & Kala.
Apologies for an even thanda update as I have a brain splitting migraine & neck pain.I quickly typed this out as I waited for my ride to the doctor’s. Hope to have a dhamakedaar’s episode tomo.Please do leave your comments & don’t forget to hit the Chaskameter to keep LTL in top form.
